Description
Item For Sale:Used WW2 speech level controller that appears to be in good condition. High quality parts and should be adaptable to an AM transmitter input or any 600 ohm line. Untested and it is as you see. If you run an AM transmitter or have an audio set up this might be a useful device repurposed.
As it sits it's not very pretty especially as compared to modern audio gear but in the right hands it could be a sweet unit. It sports the same hardware that any of the Daven broadcast level monitors had: the vu meter, the 20 step Daven antenuator, what I think is a cue vs live lever arm, and unless I am mistaken, it has an onboard output impedance transformer which may allow selections in addition to 600 ohms, a headphone jack and a 3 gang onboard output adjust pot. Everything you need to tailor the audio signal from your vintage audio buffer amp (that is if you are running a vintage Gates, RCA or Collins transmitter). Plus it has the Canon multi-pin harness connector that you can redo to map to your own station. The Daven pot & VU meter alone are worth the selling price. A Canon plug like this saves you from having to build a long Bakelite strip connection bus.
