QRP REGEN RECEIVER/TRANSMITTER FOR 80 AND 40M CW + SHORTWAVE LISTENING

This listing is for the Receiver/Transmitter that you see in the photos. It comes with plug-in coils and high impedance piezo headset. Great for camping or field day QRP fun, using battery power. The receiver is a one-stage regenerative type. The single tube circuit also functions as a cw transmitter.
The circuit employs one 25L6 tube for send and receiver, plus a one transistor headphone audio amplifier. The frequency coverage is from about 2.7 to 13 mhz, with transmit capability on 80 and 40 meter cw. I can also get it to load up 30 meter cw at the extreme edge of the Pi-network tuning.
With batteries charged to full capacity and an external 25 volt dc supply for the tube filament, I get just over one watt output from the transmitter. The regen receiver has good headphone volume.
Power requirements are a well filtered external 25 volt dc supply from heavy duty batteries or rectified ac. I can get the radio to work fine with a 20 volt cordless drill battery for the filament supply. Power output drops slightly, since the tube has a 25 volt filament, but it still works quite well at 20 volts. The circuitry of the slatboard chassis requires 8 of the 3.7 volt 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable batteries (not included).
You will get several hours of operation before a recharge is necessary. In series with a 25 volt external filament supply (not included), the 8 batteries produce about 55 volts dc for the operating circuits of the transmitter and receiver.
You will need a wire antenna for operation, and a valid ham radio license if you intend to transmit. I've been using a 67 ft. long mono-wire, working against an earth ground counterpoise of ground rods and radials. I'm able to copy tons of stations in the early evening and early morning hours, including stations on the amateur radio bands. The fine tuning control will allow you to clarify ssb and cw signals.
A hand sketched wiring diagram will be provided, along with instructions on where to hook the antenna, power and headphones, etc.
Better than 80% of the parts are new, but since a few of the parts are from good used stock I am listing the radio as used. Controls are main and fine tuning, antenna coupling and regen setting.
I guarantee this radio will work if you hook it up properly with appropriate power supply and a good antenna. The 25L6 power pentode makes a great regen receiver. With the flick of the send/receive switch it becomes a one watt QRP transmitter. You will receive 2 QRP crystals, one each for 80 and 40m cw, plus 2 plug-in coils.
