    Description

This sale is for a passive receive MW ferrite antenna for your portable radio covering the mediumwave (AM broadcast band) frequencies from 530 - 1710 KHz. The Sony radio shown in the picture above is used for demonstration only and is NOT included with the antenna.
If you have a portable radio, it will likely have a built-in ferrite antenna for receiving mediumwave signals.  However, ferrite antennas built into the radios have major weaknesses:
They are usually cheap (shortened) and do not offer best signal recovery for the radio
They do not tune the antenna to match the incoming signal, you can tune the radio, but not the antenna
The internal antenna cannot be rotated without moving the radio
This mediumwave tunable ferrite antenna is a tool for those people who either like to DX on the AM broadcast (mediumwave) band or for those who spend a lot of time listening to AM radio perhaps to their favorite sports channel or talk show.
To operate the tunable antenna, you need to experiment to find out where the internal ferrite antenna is located within the radio.  This will likely be done by tuning into a frequency on the radio and then placing this tunable ferrite antenna next to the radio (usually on top of the radio) and then tune the antenna for signal improvement.  Once you discover the location of the radio's internal ferrite antenna, placing this tunable ferrite next to that internal antenna will allow you to couple to the radio's ferrite antenna input....wirelessly.
For those people who have an antenna input on their radio (such as a wideband scanning receiver), you can locate this tunable antenna away from the radio....like near a window...for maximum reception.  You would just need to attach the radio and the antenna with a length of 3.5mm mono audio cable (not included) and then tune the antenna for maximum signal gain.
Features of this tunable ferrite antenna:
Frequency range of 530 KHz - 1710 KHz
    Tunable for maximum signal gain
    Compact for easy transport
    Easy to use
    Does not require batteries...passive
    Wireless connection to AM radios
Great signal gain for DXing and improved AM band performance
Low impedance output to connect 50 ohm scanning radios (with mediumwave band reception)
