    This sale is for an aftermarket JRC Japan Radio DC cord that is an optional method of powering the NRD-525, NRD-535, and NRD-545 receivers.  This cord is not commonly found if you are searching for one and it is fused to protect your receiver.
    The advantage about operating the unit off of DC current is that you avoid a lot of the heat buildup with the internal power supply....thus lengthening the lifespan of the components.  In addition, DC current is typically quieter as it does not introduce noise into the receiver that often is present with AC current.  This is most important for weak signal listening.
